Kate Luo started playing piano when she was 6 and immediately fell in love with learning classical music. Her love of music solidified when she played in her church band as a teenager. It was then that she came to realize the power that music has to unite and heal people. This love brought her to Chicago, IL where she earned her Bachelor of Music Degree. Here she began teaching private lessons to a range of students ages 4-60. At this time, she also began to pour her energy into composition, music production, and recording. She began writing choral arrangements and leading church choir ensembles.

Kate aims to guide her students to their own magical moments of musical discovery, nurturing them to pursue their own individual goals! With 15 years of experience teaching private piano lessons, she strives to serve students by tailoring her approach to their own unique needs and learning styles. In true alignment with the MMS mission, Kate firmly believes in laying a strong technical foundation as well as using music and the piano in creative ways with the aid of technology!

Having amassed millions of views on YouTube under her producer name KayKay, she has also placed music in film and television and worked with Focusrite/Novation, Akai, Arturia, Pearson, and Showtime. She currently writes and produces Music Production online video courses and does sound design and music production for music libraries and Ableton. Kate is thrilled to be bringing her knowledge and appreciation of classical piano music as well as a current savvy in music production to the students of MMS!
