LESSON FORMATS
IN-PERSON vs ONLINE, WHAT SHOULD I CHOOSE?
At MMS, we believe there is great value in both In-Person and Online learning and we are honored to have the opportunity to serve our students in both formats.
There are 2 formats for you to choose from!
In-Person Lessons + In-Person Events
In-Person lessons allow us to connect in the flesh with our teachers! We love that! They allow us to play duets, to sing together in real time, and to access our tactile learning function. Our In-Person Lessons take place at our MMS studio in the Mission district of San Francisco, located at 3280 22nd St. between Mission & Valencia.
In-Person Events provide opportunities to share our music with others AND to engage in the social aspect that we love so much. With In-Person events, we get to feel the energy in the room, hear the subtleties of the piano strings and see the smile on someone’s face when the music is moving them. Our In-Person events occur at incredible venues throughout the Bay Area including MMS in the Mission, Noe Valley Ministry, Bottom of the Hill Legendary Rock Venue, Tiny Telephone Recording Studio and more!
Online Lessons + In Person Events
Online Lessons + In Person Events allows you to take lessons with your favorite MMS teacher from the comfort of your own home while also engaging in our fabulous In-Person events, occurring at various venues throughout the Bay Area including MMS in the Mission, Noe Valley Ministry, Bottom of the Hill Legendary Rock Venue, Tiny Telephone Recording Studio and more!
With this format, you will have a highly valuable learning experience with your teacher each week online and then share what you’ve learned with your community In-Person. We consider this option a win-win for everyone!
PLEASE NOTE:
If you choose Online Lessons, all lessons will be given online. Some teachers offer both Online & In-Person lessons (usually on different days of the week). If you are interested in switching all of your lessons to In-Person, please reach out and we can let you know what’s available either with your teacher or with another wonderful MMS teacher.
If you choose In-Person Lessons, students may request that specific lessons to be switched to online to accommodate travel. This is a great option for summer lessons! These requests must be approved ahead of time so teachers may prepare for this switch. Requests must be made 14 days in advance so we can prepare.* There will be no rate change for these switched lessons.
